Our family has been farming for over 100 years. Farming runs deep in our veins. We have a lot of love and compassion for what we do. As generations come and go our values remain the same, our love for animals, a clean environment, and a sustainable future.
OUR HISTORY
In 1914 Edward Leighton bought a farm in Windham Maine. He began milking cows and selling milk. His grandson Harry Winship Jr walked to the farm on weekends from Portland, to help work on the farm. After Edward’s passing in 1938, Harry took over the farm with his wife. They had three children. Their boys helped with the farm. The farm was named Winny Knoll Farm and today is operated by Harry’s youngest son Gary Winship and his son Edwin . They currently continue to milk cows and sell their milk to Oakhurst dairy.
In 2000, Harry’s oldest son Ronald opened a retail store to sell the farms other business, raising Beef, Pork, and lamb. As the two boys share the same passion working together. Windy Hill Farm sits nestled in Windham next door to Winny Knoll.
